Dongwoo Kim received the B.A. degree from the Department of Economics, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1987, the M.S. degree in Management Science by exploiting intransitive features of large-size binary decisions from  the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Seoul, Korea, in 1989  and the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications by providing efficient power allocation methods for CDMA systems from KAIST, Daejeon, Korea in 1994. From 1994 to 2000, he was with Shinsegi Telecomm, Inc., Seoul, where he was involved in the design, development, test, and optimization of the world-first commercial CDMA cellular systems in Korea. Since March 2000, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Hanyang University, ERICA, Korea. In 2007, he worked as a guest Professor for the Department of communications Systems, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. He has been a principle investigator for more than 40 industry-funded research projects and served as an outside director for manufacturing companies of wireless communication networks and systems. In 2017, he served as an advisory member of the intelligent environment management task-force team, the Ministry of Environment. He also served as an Editor for the Journal of Communications and Networks and currently serves as an Editor for Electronics and for a special issue in Sensors.
